"My Tribute To Balderdash"

Every one of my dogs was a favorite at one time because, as a breeder, each
one I whelped held that promise of joy. Many did go on to bring the promise
to furition and some only tears of sadness as they departed in the arms of
their new owners.

But there is one that was special from the start when I rubbed his coat dry
and he greeted me with his first breath. As I rolled him over in my hands my
heart skipped more beats than I could ever imagine a newborn could do. This
was my third generation of breeding and never had I held a pup with such
qualities before. He didn't have to go on to prove himself to me as I knew
he would be my favorite from that moment on.

But this little B/T pup did give me more than the promise. When he opened
his eyes at 9 days and when he strutted around the 3x3 to greet me each
morning, I knew we had connected for a life long journey. As time passed,
his ownership of me became stronger than my ownership of him and somehow our
connection needed no words, no signals, just thoughts to communicate. He
became a champion at just 12 months of age and returned home to enjoy the
comforsts of my bed each night and capture a cover of an early Leader where
I could extoll his greatness.

Then, when he was four years old, circumstances became such than he
announced his gifts of himself for me still had life. He presented himself
in a litter where he produced my first ASC Furturity winner, Ch. Shenanigans
O'Luvaduck. Still not done, he went back into the ring to bring home some
BIS and BISS's to grace my cherished memories of him.

My Ch. Shenanigans O'Balderdash went on to remain my bed partner for many
more cherished years. While he passed away at 16 years of age, he remains
deep in my heart in my current litters and on any given day as I gaze into
the eyes of my pups today, I find myself gazing into the eyes of my favorite
dearest friend. And it is my Balderdash that makes me plan the next litter,
and the next, and so on and so forth the name of Shenanigans goes on........
